Easy Christmas Tree Oreos: Festive Holiday Treats to Make
The holidays can be hectic, and going with a no-bake dessert like these Christmas tree Oreos can be a time saver. They are fun and easy to make, and perfect when you need a quick Christmas treat.
How to Make Christmas Tree Oreos
One of the things I love about making Christmas Oreos is that it doesn’t take a lot of ingredients. Here’s what you need to make these Christmas tree Oreos.
12 Oreo cookies
1 cup green candy melts
1/2 cup white candy melts
12 Star sprinkles
1 tsp nonpareils sprinkles
You can substitute white chocolate for the candy melt if you prefer.
Steps for Making Christmas Oreos
Melting the Candy
- Place the white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat the process until it’s smooth.
- Melt the green candy melts in a separate bowl, following the same steps as you did for the white.
Dipping the Oreos
- The bottom of the Oreo is dipped in the white candy melt to make it look like snow. Dip each Oreo so that about 1/4 of the Oreo is covered. Gently tap the Oreo on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess candy melt.
- Place the coated Oreos on a parchment lined baking sheet or plate.
Creating the Christmas Trees
- Transfer the melted green candy melts to a piping bag. If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use a Ziploc bag instead. Snip a small hole in the corner of the bag, or at the end of the piping bag.
- Drizzle the green candy melt over the top of each Oreo in a zigzag pattern to create the look of a Christmas tree.
Decorating the Trees
- While the green tree is still wet, place a star-shaped sprinkle at the top of each tree.
- Sprinkle the nonpareils onto the trees to decorate.
Allow the cookies to set completely. Once they are set they are ready to eat, or to package up. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
Oreos are one of those cookies that everyone likes. They are a classic cookie that most of us grew up with, and they are a universally appealing treat. That’s why I think Christmas tree cookies are the perfect no-bake dessert to make for the holidays.
We all have our favorite way to eat Oreos. Whether you eat them as-is or enjoy separating them and eating the cream and chocolate wafers separately, Oreos are a fun cookie. And Christmas tree Oreos are just as fun to make. A great gift idea to package up in a pretty box to give to your friends. And since they are a breeze to make, these Christmas tree Oreos are great when you need a last minute dessert. Or, when you want a fun dessert to make with kids.
