Easy Chocolate Valentine Oreos: Perfect Homemade Gift Idea
When you want to make a quick dessert or gift for someone special, these Valentine Oreos are sure to please. Easy to make, super cute, and of course delicious. Everything you want from an Oreo, but dressed up.
Why Oreos for Gifts
I love making chocolate covered Oreos for gifts. I mean who doesn’t like an Oreo, right? So I know that it’s a cookie that the person will like and I’ve personalized it just for them. Or, for the holiday I’m making them for.
Another reason why I like making decorated Oreos like these Valentine’s Day ones is that it doesn’t require much work. Or, many ingredients. You basically just need melted chocolate and decorations.
For these Valentine Oreos, you need white chocolate, heart-shaped sprinkles, and your favorite Oreo cookies. I stick with the original Oreo, or double stuff. But, if you want to use one of their special flavors, go right ahead.
Making Valentine Oreos
Step 1: Melt the white chocolate candy melts. I like to melt the chocolate in the microwave because I think that it’s the easiest. That way I can pour the candy melts, or white chocolate, into a microwave safe bowl and then after the chocolate has melted I can use the bowl to dip the Oreos into. You could also use a double boiler set-up if you prefer, but to me this is a lot more work. Not difficult, but the microwave is just so much easier.
Step 2: Dip the Oreos in the melted chocolate. These Valentine Oreos are only partially covered in chocolate, so it’s easy to dip them in the chocolate. I like to use my hands to hold the Oreo and dip it in, but you can also use a fork. Lay the Oreos on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Step 3: Decorate the Oreos while the chocolate is still soft. For Valentine Oreos, heart-shaped decorations work well. But, sprinkles or non-pareils work well too.
And that’s how easy it is to make Valentine Oreos. Once the chocolate has set you can package them up for gifts. Using a clean mason jar is a pretty way to show-off the cookies. Just add a ribbon and a tag and you have an easy gift to give for any occasion. Use different sprinkles if you want to make them for another holiday instead of Valentine’s Day. These no-bake cookies are so easy to make, they are perfect when you need a last minute gift idea.

- Parchment Paper
- Microwave safe bowl
Ingredients
- 1 package of Oreo cookies
- 12 oz white candy melts
- Red heart sprinkles or any Valentine-themed sprinkles
Instructions

- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white candy melts according to the package instructions. Usually, this involves microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip each Oreo into the melted candy. Let the excess candy coating drip off and gently tap the fork against the side of the bowl. Place the dipped Oreo onto the prepared baking sheet.
- While the candy coating is still wet, sprinkle the red heart sprinkles over the top of each Oreo.
- Let the Oreos sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes or until the candy coating hardens. For faster results, you can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes.
