1boxvanilla or chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)13.25 ounce box
10ouncesmelting chocolatemilk or semi-sweet
1 ¼cupsvanilla or chocolate cream cheese frosting
1cupcrushed Oreos
12 to 16cake pop sticks
12 to 16gummy worms
Instructions
Prepare and bake the cake according to the instructions on the box. Let cool completely.
Crumble the cooled cake into a large mixing bowl. Add the frosting and mix until a dough-like consistency forms.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the cake mixture into 2 to 3 tablespoon-sized balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Melt a small amount of chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip the end of a cake pop stick into the melted chocolate, then insert the stick into a cake ball. Repeat the process with all of the balls. You should get between 12-16 cake pops per batch.
Place the cake pops back on the baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes to set.
Melt the remaining chocolate in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Dip each cake pop into the chocolate, turning to coat evenly. Gently tap off any excess.
Immediately roll each pop in crushed Oreos and place a gummy worm on top before the chocolate sets.
Let the chocolate harden fully before serving.
Notes
You can use any type of chocolate you'd like. Milk, semisweet, and dark chocolate are all good. You can even do a mix of chocolate if you want an assortment of cake pop flavors.
