Easy Easter Oreo Ideas: Fun Designs to Make for Holiday

When you need a quick and easy dessert option for the holiday, these Easter Oreo ideas are perfect. There are so many different designs that work well for the holiday, or any spring celebration. As a no bake dessert, they are a fun dessert to make with the kids. Here’s a look at some of my favorite quick and easy ideas for decorating Oreos.

Easy Easter Oreo Ideas

These Easter Oreo ideas are all created with melted white chocolate, or candy melts. That way you can add food coloring to the chocolate to create whatever design you’d like.

With these designs you can either dip the Oreo in the chocolate, pour it over the cookies, or spread it on. If you want Oreos covered in white chocolate that you can use as a blank canvas to add designs on top, then you may like making chocolate covered Oreos with a mold. It’s another easy way to make chocolate coated Oreos.

Supplies Needed for Decorated Oreos

The beauty of making decorated Oreos is that it doesn’t take a lot of supplies, or ingredients. Plan on about 2/3 cup white chocolate chips for every 8 Oreos. Then you just need additional candy, and chocolate wafers to help with the decorating. For melting the chocolate you can do it on the stove with a double boiler, but I think the easiest way is to melt it in the microwave. Use a microwave-safe bowl and heat the chocolate in 30-second intervals until melted.

Different Design Options

Bunny Oreos

These cute little bunny Oreos are super easy to make. The Oreos aren’t dipped in chocolate, but instead have a layer of chocolate coating the top of the Oreo. Candy eyes are used for the bunny eyes, and candy hearts make the perfect bunny ears and nose. For the ears you can use heart-shaped gummies. Cut the heart in half and use one half for each ear. A small candy heart is just right for the nose.

Easter Sheep Oreo

I think that this Oreo sheep design is adorable. In addition to melted white chocolate, you’ll need 3 chocolate discs, 2 candy eyes, a candy heart, and white sprinkles. You could also use nonpareils instead of sprinkles. Basically any small round candy works. Cover the top of the Oreo with melted white chocolate.

Cover the top of the cookie with the sprinkles, or round candies. You can either sprinkle the candy over the cookie, or dip the chocolate into the candy. Place one chocolate disc in the middle of the cookie to create the face. Use some of the melted chocolate to attach two eyes and a candy heart on top of the chocolate wafer. Cut two chocolate discs in half. Use two halves of the chocolate as ears, and the other two as feet.

Easter Oreo Chick

A little yellow chick is another cute design when you’re looking for Easter Oreo ideas, or a spring themed design. It’s also another super easy design. Start by adding yellow food coloring to the melted white chocolate. Dip the top of the Oreo into the yellow colored chocolate. Immediately sprinkle the top with orange candies, and add two mini chocolate chips for the eyes. Then add candies for the beak and feet. Reese’s Pieces are another option for making the feet.

Colorful Oreos With Sprinkles

These next two designs are proof that you can have fun and decorate the Oreos any way you please. You can either opt for using food coloring to come up with the colored chocolate you want. Or, buy colored candy melts to use instead. Then dip the Oreos in the chocolate, and decorate the tops with sprinkles. Let the Easter holiday, and spring season be your inspiration for making colorful and festive decorated Oreos.

I think that decorating Oreos is such a great treat to make. I guess that’s why you’ll see that I have a lot of articles about decorating Oreos for the holidays. Like my Valentines Day Oreos, Halloween Candy Coated Oreos, and Christmas Tree Oreos. I share step-by-step instructions for all of these designs.

I look at decorating Oreos as a fun art project. That’s why I love to do it with my kids. There’s no right or wrong way to decorate Oreos, so use these Easter Oreo ideas as inspiration to create your own. The decorated cookies store well in an airtight container, and are a fun gift to make for family, teachers, or a spring bake sale.
