These cake ball spiders are a fun and easy treat to make for Halloween, or anytime you need a quick dessert. These bite-sized desserts are fun to make with kids, and perfect for them to bring to a school party. A creepy, crawly treat they’ll love to eat!

About Cake Ball Spiders

These spider cake balls are made using a boxed cake mix, but if you prefer to start from scratch, go right ahead. And since the cake balls are coated in chocolate, the inside can be any flavor you’d like. I made vanilla cake balls, but chocolate would be yummy too.

Snip the tip of the piping bag. Draw a spider onto each ball. Make an oval body, a smaller head, and then 4 legs on each side.

That’s all there is to making cake ball spiders. Once the spiders have set, store the cake balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. This makes them a great after-school snack for the kids to enjoy one ball at a time.

Play around with drawing whatever type of spider you’d like. Use different colors or add some candy eyes. You could also add some edible candy spiders on top of the cake ball spiders, or serve them alongside them on a plate.
