Cute Spider Cookies With Oreos: An Easy Halloween Treat
These spider cookies with Oreos are such an easy treat to make for Halloween, or when you need a cute snack for kids. Kids love to help make them, but most of all, they love to eat them. Here’s a look at how easy it easy to make these Oreo spider cookies.
About Spider Cookies With Oreos
These are very straightforward cookies to make. Because you need the middle of the Oreo to help hold the legs in place, you don’t have to worry about coating the Oreos in chocolate. However, if you do want some extra chocolate flavor, you can dip the tops of the Oreos in melted chocolate.
Step by Step With Photos
Ingredients needed:
- 18 Double Stuff Oreos
- Black Licorice Ropes
- Icing
- Candy Eyes
You won’t believe how easy it is to make these spider cookies with Oreos. It’s really more like a craft project for me. A fun no-bake dessert that is great to do with the kids. You don’t have to use double-stuff Oreos, but the extra thickness of the cream filling makes it easier to attach the spider legs.
Cut the licorice rope into 1-inch pieces.
Separate the Oreo cookies so that the cream is on one side. Place the Oreos on a piece of parchment paper, with the cream side facing up.
Place 4 pieces of licorice rope into the cream along one side of the Oreo. Repeat along the other side so that there is a total of 8 legs for the spider. Press the licorice gently into the cream filling.
Add the chocolate cookie side of the Oreo on top of the cream filling and licorice legs. Press down gently, but don’t press too hard as you don’t want to squish the cream.
Use the black cookie icing to place two dots on the Oreo for the eyes. Place a candy eye on each of the icing dots. And voila, your spider Oreos are done. Add any other decorations, or creative touches you want to create the perfect cute, creepy, or scary spider.
I hope you enjoy making these spider cookies with Oreos. These are such a quick and easy treat to make when you need a last minute snack for a school party.
