About Spider Cookies With Oreos

These are very straightforward cookies to make. Because you need the middle of the Oreo to help hold the legs in place, you don’t have to worry about coating the Oreos in chocolate. However, if you do want some extra chocolate flavor, you can dip the tops of the Oreos in melted chocolate.

Ingredients needed:

  • 18 Double Stuff Oreos
  • Black Licorice Ropes
  • Icing
  • Candy Eyes

You won’t believe how easy it is to make these spider cookies with Oreos. It’s really more like a craft project for me. A fun no-bake dessert that is great to do with the kids. You don’t have to use double-stuff Oreos, but the extra thickness of the cream filling makes it easier to attach the spider legs.

Cut the licorice rope into 1-inch pieces.

Separate the Oreo cookies so that the cream is on one side. Place the Oreos on a piece of parchment paper, with the cream side facing up.

Place 4 pieces of licorice rope into the cream along one side of the Oreo. Repeat along the other side so that there is a total of 8 legs for the spider. Press the licorice gently into the cream filling.

Add the chocolate cookie side of the Oreo on top of the cream filling and licorice legs. Press down gently, but don’t press too hard as you don’t want to squish the cream.

Use the black cookie icing to place two dots on the Oreo for the eyes. Place a candy eye on each of the icing dots. And voila, your spider Oreos are done. Add any other decorations, or creative touches you want to create the perfect cute, creepy, or scary spider.

Oreo Spiders

Ingredients
  

  • 18 Double-Stuffed Oreos
  • Eye ball candies
  • Licorice ropes
  • Black icing

Instructions
 

  • Prep your workspace with parchment.
  • Cut the licorice ropes into 1 inch size pieces, set aside.
  • Carefully separate the Oreos with the filling on one side.
  • Place four licorice legs on each side of the Oreo and gently press into the filling to keep it secure. Each Oreo should have eight legs. Replace the top half of the cookie and gently press into place.
  • Use the black icing to dab two spots for the eye balls.
  • Place the candy eyes and gently press into place.

Notes

  • Assembled spider Oreos should be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
