These apple pretzels are a fun treat to make as a back to school snack. It takes mini pretzels dipped in chocolate to make pretzels that look like apples. Something that kids love to make and eat. Kids may not come running for a regular apple, but with these apple pretzels they will!
About Apple Pretzels
These apple pretzels are so easy to make. It really takes just a few minutes to make the pretzels and then another 10 minutes or so to let them rest. Here’s a look at how easy it is.
Step by Step With Photos
It only takes a few ingredients to make these apple pretzels. It starts with mini pretzel twists and then for the decorating you need candy melt and fondant. I definitely recommend using gloves when coloring the fondant, otherwise you’ll get green food coloring all over your hands.
Start by coloring the fondant. Add some green food coloring to it and then use your hands to mix the color into the fondant. As I mentioned above, wearing food safe gloves is highly recommended. Once the fondant is colored, break off little pieces and shape them into little leaves. Set these aside until you’re ready to decorate the pretzels.
Melt the candy melt according to the instructions on the package. I typically heat the chocolate in 30-second intervals until it’s smooth. Coat the pretzel in the melted chocolate. Use a fork to lift the pretzel out of the chocolate and tap the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Place the chocolate covered pretzel on the parchment paper and immediately add the green leaf. Repeat the process with the remaining pretzels.
I hope you enjoy making these easy apple pretzels. A fun little treat to make as a back to school snack, teacher appreciation gift, or fall treat. These chocolate covered pretzels are easy to make, store well, and are perfect when you need a school themed snack.
