About Easy Dessert Ideas for Summer
For me there’s nothing better than summertime. Life is usually a little less hectic for me, and I love all the time I get to spend with family at the beach. The heat doesn’t bother me much, except when I’m in the kitchen.
I don’t cook or bake as much in the summer because I don’t like turning on the oven and heating up the kitchen. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t bake at all. It just means that I tend to stick with easier recipes, or no bake desserts. Here is a look at some of my favorite summer desserts that are quick, easy, and perfect to take on the go.
Smore Dessert Ideas
If making gooey S’Mores by the campfire is one of your favorite summertime activities, then you’ll love all of the quick and easy S’More treats that you can try. These recipes are all loaded with the classic Smore flavors with marshmallow, chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers. The Smore Bars pictured below are one example of a S’More dessert that I listed on the S’More Desserts page.
Summer Fruit Kabobs
Want the quickest and easiest dessert? These fruit kabobs are so easy to make because you don’t have to do any baking. You get a pretty red, white and blue dessert that is perfect for the 4th of July, and all summer long.
Patriotic Oreo Balls
Another easy, no-bake dessert are these Fourth of July Oreo balls. A yummy Oreo truffle that is full of Oreo flavor in every bite. This is another one that I made to celebrate the 4th of July so I did them in red, white, and blue, but you can color them however you’d like.
Hedgehog Strawberries
There’s nothing better than fresh picked strawberries in the summer. Whether you pick them yourself or grab some at the store, take advantage of them being readily available this time of year. These Hedgehog Strawberries are a cute way to turn the fruit into an easy summer dessert.
Dirt Cake Pops
If your kids love dirt cake, then they will love these dirt cake pops. A fun, bite-sized version of the playful dessert. Kids love to make them, and eat them of course.
Sprinkle Rice Krispie Treats
Rice Krispie treats are super easy to make, and I think that they are perfect for the summer. After all, they are already a gooey dessert so they can hold up on a hot day. The heat only makes them better! As a no-bake dessert, these sprinkle rice cereal treats are easy to make and ideal when you want a snack to bring to a cookout, or picnic.
Chocolate Ladybug Oreos
Here’s another quick and easy no-bake dessert that’s great for a summer BBQ. No baking skills necessary, just have fun being creative as you decorate Oreos to look like ladybugs. I guarantee that these chocolate ladybug Oreos will practically fly-off the table as people can’t resist how cute and delicious they are.
Vanilla Wafer Hamburger Cookies
Summer is the season of cookouts, BBQs, and grilling up lots of hamburgers and hot dogs. So I love these imposter Vanilla Wafer Hamburger cookies. It’s another no-bake dessert that is easy to make, and super fun to do with the kids. It uses store bought cookies and icing to create a mini dessert that looks like a hamburger. But oh, how different it is when you bite into it.
Patriotic Chocolate Chip Cookies
In my mind you can’t go wrong with chocolate chip cookies. I think they are a classic cookie that everyone loves, and that makes them the perfect cookie for any occasion. I also like them because they hold up well in the heat.
With these Patriotic chocolate chip cookies, colorful M&Ms and sprinkles turn them into pretty red, white, and blue cookies. From Memorial Day all the way to Labor Day, there are so many patriotic reasons to share these yummy cookies, and to celebrate the USA!
Tie Dye Sugar Cookies
Another popular cookie is the classic sugar cookie. These tie-dye cookies are a fun way to create colorful sugar cookies that are perfect for summer.
